A dog owner was left with a £710 bill on Wednesday for failing to clear up when his Staffordshire bull terrier made a mess on playing fields in Clifton.
Nottingham magistrates heard that Peter Clark, 29, was caught out by a city council initiative aimed at tackling the problem of dog fouling.
Sarah Mills, prosecuting, told the court that a plain clothes environmental protection officer saw the white Staffie go to the toilet on Clifton Playing Fields at 9.55am on October 23.
