Armed police were called to a scrap yard in Stapleford after reports of a "threat to kill."
Officers were called to Bessell Lane at around 2.15pm on Monday after receiving a report that a threat had been made against a member of the public.
Eyewitnesses said a police helicopter, five to six police cars and officers armed with rifles had been called.
