There has been a spate of thefts from unlocked cars in Long Eaton.
Officers from the Derbyshire Police are asking residents to ensure they lock their vehicles when they are left unattended.
The warning comes after a number of vehicles were attacked in the past week, and various items were taken from the cars.
The majority of the vehicles had been unlocked when parked overnight.
